The Anaheim Ducks have announced today that they have signed 2020 draft pick Jacob Perrault to a three-year, entry level contract.

Perrault was the Ducks second first round pick at 27th overall, which they acquired in the Ondrej Kase trade at last season’s deadline. Perrault is a dual Canadian/United States citizen who plays for Team Canada, the son of former NHLer Yannick Perrault.

The 5’11” 180 lb right winger has one of the best shots of the 2020 draft class with a very high ceiling. He put up 70 points with 39 goals in 57 games last year with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL, rocketing up analyst and team draft boards. However, he has some criticism surrounding his work ethic and defensive play, making him somewhat of a boom or bust prospect.

Perrault is expected to continue developing with the Sarnia Sting this year, and could be a prime trade candidate in the OHL given his skill and tendency of CHL teams to frequently trade high-end talent.
